Weekly Goals

Joel's surgery went well, recovery went well, then we got home..... Joel was so upset on Saturday night and all day Sunday. I called the Dr. this morning and we changed everything around. Thank goodness. He seems to be doing about a million times better now.

Lets see how I did on last weeks goals:

1) Fold ALL laundry
Ok. So I didn't fold it all yet. But I did get about 90% of it done! Everything newly clean got folded right away and there is just a small stack of hang up items at the end of my bed! Hooray!!
2) Make fire and tornado drill sheets
3) Do fire and tornado drill
4) Get Camera cleaned (Joels pump and bag broke and his milk soaked our camera!)
5) Brown all hamburger

6) cook chicken
7) dice 1/2 chicken shred 1/2 chicken
8) vacuum all rooms
9) cut and USE grocery coupons (I am classic for watching all the sites, getting coupons ready, then not going to the store to actually use them in time!)

I only cut one but I did use it!! :)
10) Finish reading The Blueberry Years

I loved this book.
11) Start reading Caleb The Cabin Faced West

I saw this kids book on moneysavingmom.com and I totally started it! And promptly finished it. Caleb didn't understand a lot of it and I frankly thought it was boring. Sorry Crystal but I think Magic Tree house is better suited for us.
12)Help Caleb finish his ABC's poster homework by Friday
With Joel's surgery on Thursday, this totally slipped my mind! But it is finished now. There was a sub in Caleb's class today so we will be turning it in tomorrow.
13)Order chicken from Zaycon
My mom and I split an order of 40 lbs.
14)Put in 10 coke caps for coke rewards

9.5 out of 14 isn't too bad! The .5 is for the laundry and book that we sorta did. :)

Goals for this week :

1) Fold ALL laundry
2) Make fire and tornado drill sheets
3) Do fire and tornado drill
4) Get Camera cleaned (Joels pump and bag broke and his milk soaked our camera!)
5) Limit computer time to 2 hours per day. This will include and facebook, coupon sites, and any child care paperwork.
6) cook chicken. This is from the 20 lbs I got on Saturday
7) dice 1/2 chicken shred 1/2 chicken
8) vacuum all rooms
9) cut and USE grocery coupons (I am classic for watching all the sites, getting coupons ready, then not going to the store to actually use them in time!)

10) Finish reading 168 hours You have more time than you think
11) Continue reading The eager reader bible with Caleb
12)Put in 10 coke caps for coke rewards. I have got  a small box of these.
13) Make phone calls : Caleb's dentist reimbursement, make Caleb dentist appointment, schedule carpeting, food program for Caleb and Joel, 401K with bank
14) Cut up broccoli from farmers market. I got 7lbs of broccoli because my coins were about to expire.
15) Cook pumpkins from farmers market. I also got 5 large pie pumpkins :)
16) Send in End of month forms for Food Program
17) Have a blast trick or treating!!

In addition to figuring out Joel new routine, this week we have got 4 dr's appointment, court for Caleb's dad because he's not paying child support, and surgery for Caleb this Friday. This is going to be a crazy week as well. In two weeks, Jimmy will be hunting for 4 days. So he has been busy outside getting the camper done. The camper was in pieces at the beginning of last week and now he's just doing the finishing touches.

What are your goals this week?

Weekly Goals

Last weeks Goals and how I did:

1) Fold ALL laundry
I half did this one. I folded all newly cleaned laundry. I just didn't really reduce the pile in our bedroom any but I am proud to say that I didn't add any either!
2) Make fire and tornado drill sheets
3) Do fire and tornado drill
4) Get Camera cleaned (Joels pump and bag broke and his milk soaked our camera!)
5) Cut all carrots (these will be ready to just throw in a meal)

I did get ALL the carrots cut. All 29 lbs!
6) Brown all hamburger
I have the hamburger in the fridge thawing now!
7) cook chicken

I also have the chicken in the fridge thawing now!
8) dice 1/2 chicken shred 1/2 chicken
9) wash and "box" grapes (snack size boxes will be perfect for Caleb to bring to school)

We used up all of our grapes this week.
10) vacuum all rooms

Although I didn't get all the rooms I did get the living room. However, I also cut my carrots out here so it didn't do much good.
11) cut and USE grocery coupons (I am classic for watching all the sites, getting coupons ready, then not going to the store to actually use them in time!)

I used up all the coupons this week. I even did a coupon swap this week. However, my coupons didn't come int he mail still! Kind of bummed because I paid for the stamps for these to be sent to me! But what can you do except live and learn?

So I didn't get a ton done this week but it did help to have these goals written down. We had two unexpected events this week. Food Truck with 25 lbs of carrots (I am telling you, it took me all day to do these with the kids and all) and my dad's wedding (Ok, so this wasn't quite an unexpected event but I totally forgot about that when writing these goals!).

Joel will be having surgery this week and will be in the hospital for a few days so I am not going to make my goals super ambitious because I want to accomplish them :) Baby Steps right?

This weeks goals include:

1) Fold ALL laundry
2) Make fire and tornado drill sheets
3) Do fire and tornado drill
4) Get Camera cleaned (Joels pump and bag broke and his milk soaked our camera!)
5) Brown all hamburger
6) cook chicken
7) dice 1/2 chicken shred 1/2 chicken
8) vacuum all rooms
9) cut and USE grocery coupons (I am classic for watching all the sites, getting coupons ready, then not going to the store to actually use them in time!)

10) Finish reading The Blueberry Years
11) Start reading Caleb The Cabin Faced West
12)Help Caleb finish his ABC's poster homework by Friday
13)Order chicken from Zaycon
14)Put in 10 coke caps for coke rewards

Food truck

Yesterday we went to a local food pantry and food truck. The food pantry gave us some canned items, pasta, lots of snacky junk food, but didn't give us much healthy foods. But when we went to the food truck we got, 25 lbs of carrots, 20 lbs of potatoes, 30 tomatoes, a bag of onions, a bag of apples, a bag of peaches, bread, and 2 big containers of Orange Juice. Jimmy thought the best of all was the OJ since we rarely buy juice! So I have borrowed my mom's mandolin so I can slice the potatoes to make scalloped potatoes. I am using my salad shooter to shred up the carrots, and I am on the look out to get a good tomato something going. probably like smashed tomatoes so I can add them to soup this winter. The onions I am going to slice and dice up as well. I will put these all into snack size (holds 1 cup GREAT) ziplock baggies and put them down in my freezer. I am thankful for a program like this in our area. Money is getting a little tight around here and the food we got yesterday will help out tons! If nothing else, Joel is having a blast playing with the cut up but not yet shredded carrots :)

Weekly Goals

Over at my Favorite blog, Money Saving Mom, she posts a weekly goals list. I have been sort of attempting this but never really wrote my goals down or held myself accountable. So this week I am going to write them down here! Hopefully this will help me get them done. Next week I will let you know how I did on my goals and write some new ones.

We have been wasting a ton of food lately. This is not like us! But it is getting hidden behind the milk or stuffed in a drawer. So this week I have some goals to help make sure that my bucks aren't going in the trash. I find that if food is ready to eat, (fruits are cut up and in snack size containers or meat is already cooked so we just have throw it in a meal for dinner) we are much more likely to use it up.

So here are my goals for this week:

1) Fold ALL laundry
2) Make fire and tornado drill sheets
3) Do fire and tornado drill
4) Get Camera cleaned (Joels pump and bag broke and his milk soaked our camera!)
5) Cut all carrots (these will be ready to just throw in a meal)
6) Brown all hamburger
7) cook chicken
8) dice 1/2 chicken shred 1/2 chicken
9) wash and "box" grapes (snack size boxes will be perfect for Caleb to bring to school)
10) vacuum all rooms
11) cut and USE grocery coupons (I am classic for watching all the sites, getting coupons ready, then not going to the store to actually use them in time!)
